We developed this program to improve reimbursements by providing accurate time studies for the emergency physicians to be used in hospital cost reports. DOC-Time™ reports are completed quarterly and include all emergency physicians’ time over a two-week period in that quarter. The times are accurate to each quarter-hour spent by the physician in the areas of direct patient care, administration, utilization review, supervision, quality control, teaching and unassigned time. These reports are then prepared and certified by a licensed professional engineer who specializes in the area of time studies.
